Art and Code Competition ACTION 2014 - BREAK THE LIMIT AND SHOW THE BEST OF YOU!

Sehubungan dengan kegiatan tahunan dalam rangka merealisasikan program kerja BEM Fakultas Teknik - Akademi Komunitas Negeri Ponorogo, pada tahun 2014 ini akan dilangsungkan lomba yang ber-tema "Inovasi Teknologi Untuk Budayaku". Peserta meliputi SMA/SMK dan Mahasiswa wilayah Jawa Timur dengan berbagai macam lomba yang akan diadakan yaitu Web Design, Line Tracer, Majalah Digital, Potografi dan Poster.

Bagi kamu pelajar SMA/SMK yang berdomisili di Jawa Timur, jika tertarik dengan lomba ini, ayo segera daftarkan diri kamu sekarang juga!

Sebagai tambahan, Akademi Komunitas Negeri Ponorogo merupakan Program Studi Diluar Domisili Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya (PENS) dengan jurusan D2 Teknik Informatika dan D2 Mekatronika yang lokasinya berada di kota Ponorogo.

Syarat & ketentuan lomba sebagai berikut,

• 1. LOMBA WEB DESAIN

Web design merupakan event teknologi yang semakin pesat yang dapat memberikan manfaat yang sangat besar bagi yang membutuhkannya . Peserta diharapkan dapat membangun sebuah Sistem Informasi Berbasis Web model sistem (E-commerce) dengan tema atau judul bebas tetapi harus ada kaitan dengan tema lomba.

A. Ketentuan Perlombaan

Tema :

• "Inovasi Teknologi untuk Budayaku"

Pilihan sistem yang bisa digunakan :

1. Travel Agency
2. E-commerce (Toko Batik online, dll)
3. Dan lain-lain

Persyaratan Peserta :

1. Peserta adalah Siswa Siswi SMA / SMK wilayah Jawa Timur
2. Peserta berkelompok/tim, terdiri atas maksimal 2 orang dan dipimpin oleh seorang ketua Tim
3. Diperbolehkan mengirimkan lebih dari 1 tim dari setiap sekolah.
4. Menyerahkan foto copy kartu pelajar.
5. Menyerahkan surat rekomendasi dari sekolah.
6. Mengisi formulir pendaftaran. Untuk yang daftar online formulir bisa di download di website http://www.action2014.aknponorogo.ac.id
7. Formulir pendaftaran dan bukti transfer dikirimkan melalui email, atau bisa langsung diserahkan kesekretariatan lomba “Art and Code Competition (ACTION)”, Jl. Niken Gandini No. 98, Setono, Jenangan, Ponorogo (SMKN 1 Jenangan Ponorogo).
8. Pendamping dari sekolah, minimal dari Ketua Program Studi/Jurusan 1 orang.
9. Pendaftaran peserta dan keikutsertaan peserta dikenakan biaya sesuai lomba yang diikuti.
10. Peserta yang tidak memenuhi syarat dinyatakan gugur dalam kompetisi.

B. Kriteria Penilaian

Babak Penyisihan :

1. Orisinalitas Karya

3. Susunan Proposal
4. Link antar halaman
5. Waktu loading web
6. Validasi HTML
7. Inovasi serta artistic penyajian visual

Babak Final :

• Kemampuan presentasi dan menjawab pertanyaan juri

C. Pendaftaran

Pendaftaran dimulai tanggal 20Januari 2014 sampai dengan  16 Februari 2014. Pendaftaran bisa online dan juga bisa datang langsung ke kampus AKN Ponorogo.

D. Biaya pendaftaran

Biaya pendaftaran untuk masing-masing team Rp.100.000,00

E. Penghargaan

• Juara 1 : Piagam penghargaan, tropy dan uang pembinaan
• Juara 2 : Piagam penghargaan, tropy dan uang pembinaan
• Juara 3 : Piagam penghargaan, tropy dan uang pembinaan

F. Fasilitas peserta

Setiap peserta akan mendapatkan fasilitas sebaga berikut :

1. ID Card

G. Tahapan

1. Pendaftaran secara online, ditutup tanggal  16Februari 2014, Pukul 23.59 WIB
2. Peserta mengirimkan rancangan sistem / prososal  secara online, yang ditutup tanggal 16 Februari 2014, Pukul 23:59
3. Babak penyisihan : Tim juri akan melakukan evaluasi rancangan sistem secara in absentia, dan melihat apakah proposal rancangan sistemnya sudah sesuai dengan kriteria yang ditentukan. Babak ini mempengaruhi nilai dari perlombaan ini.
4. Peserta mempresentasikan dan mendemonstrasikan karya akhir di hadapan Tim Juri selama maksimal 25 menit, dan dilanjutkan dengan tanya jawab.
5. Tim juri akan memberikan persoalan untuk menguji keberhasilan kriteria desain tsb. Tim juri juga akan menilai sesuai dengan spesifikasi, implementasi memenuhi rancangan, dan rancangan terbukti robust terhadap perubahan implementasi.
6. Setiap penguji akan memberi pertanyaan dan penilaian. Peserta dapat menyanggah, menerima atau menjawab statemen dari juri jika dinilai tidak sesuai dengan faktanya, dan juri akan merespon peserta.
7. Dewan Juri akan menilai kesesuaian implementasi dengan hasil rancangan dan ketahanan rancangan tersebut terhadap perubahan implementasi
8. Pengumuman Pemenang akan dilaksanakan pada Acara Penutupan ACTION 2014  pada tanggal 23 Februari.

• 2. LOMBA POSTER

Event ini bermaksud menyelanggarakan kegiatan yang bersifat kompetitif dan sebagai ajang menyalurkan kreatifitas, minat, dan bakat mahasiswa dan pelajar di wilayah Jawa Timur dalam bidang membuat Poster.Kegiatan ini bertajuk Lomba Poster yang masuk dalam rangkaian acara ACTION 2014.

A. Ketentuan Perlombaan

Tema :

• "Inovasi Teknologi untuk Budayaku"

Persyaratan Peserta :

1. Peserta dapat mengambil formulir pendaftaran mulai tanggal 20 Januari – 19 Februari di sekretariat lomba “Art and Code Competition (ACTION)”, Jl. Niken Gandini No. 98, Setono, Jenangan, Ponorogo (SMKN 1 Jenangan Ponorogo) setiap hari & jam kerja atau diunduh melalui website –  http://www.action2014.aknponorogo.ac.id
2. Lomba ini terbuka untuk pelajar, mahasiswa, dan umum .Warga Negara Indonesia.
3. Calon peserta yang mendaftar secara otomatis terdaftar sebagai peserta lomba.
4. Formulir pendaftaran dan bukti transfer dikirimkan melalui email, atau bisa langsung diserahkan kesekretariatan lomba “Art and Code Competition (ACTION)”, Jl. Niken Gandini No. 98, Setono, Jenangan, Ponorogo (SMKN 1 Jenangan Ponorogo).
5. Lomba dilaksanakan dalam 1 (satu) hari pada tanggal 22 September 2013

Persyaratan Poster :

Poster harus memenuhi syarat-syarat sebagai berikut :

1. Desain poster dibuat dalam format JPG, BMP, GIF, TIFF minimal 300 dpi dengan menggunakan  aplikasi umum  (CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop,  ataupun  aplikasi desain lainnya). Dengan ketentuan ukuran A4  (21x29,7  cm).
2. Desain dibuat menarik dan berwarna, jumlah warna bebas.
3. Menjauhkan tulisan dari plagiatisme (harus original).
4. Ditulis dalam bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar sesuai dengan EYD.
5. Karya poster tidak mengandung unsur SARA dan tidak bertentangan dengan norma yang berlaku.
6. Karya yang sudah dikirimkan menjadi hak milik panitia dan keputusan juri tidak dapat diganggu gugat
7. Karya peserta yang tidak memenuhi ketentuan dan syarat berlaku akan di diskualifikasi sebelum penjurian.

B. Kriteria Penilaian

Babak Penyisihan :

1. Kesesuaian dalam menerapkan konsep desain terhadap tema yang ditentukan
2. Ketepatan penyelesaian persoalan dengan kebutuhan (requirements) dan domain persoalan
3. Orisinalitas karya (asli karya sendiri)
4. Inovasi serta kualitas artistik penyajian visual

Babak Final :

• Kemampuan presentasi dan menjawab pertanyaan juri

C. Pendaftaran

F. Fasilitas peserta

Setiap peserta akan mendapatkan fasilitas sebaga berikut :

G. Tahapan

1. Pendaftaran secara online, ditutup tanggal 19 Februari 2014, Pk 23.59 WIB
2. Peserta mempersiapkan bahan atau elemen-elemen pendukung untuk pembuatan poster.
3. Babak penyisihan : Tim juri akan melakukan evaluasi hasil desain secara in absentia, dan mengumumkan peserta yang berhak mengikuti babak penentuan finalis setelah proses mendesain selesai. Diambil 10 peserta.
4. Peserta yang lolos pada babak penentuan finalis wajib melanjutkan tahap presentasi hasil karya dihadapan juri selama maksimal 10 menit, dan dilanjutkan tanya jawab.
5. Pengumuman Pemenang akan dilaksanakan pada Acara Penutupan ACTION 2014, pada tanggal 23 Februari 2014 di Ponorogo.

• 3. LOMBA LINE FOLLOWER ANALOG

Line Follower Analog merupakan robot  yang didesain berjalan megikuti sirkuit secara otomatis, tanpa ada interaksi dengan manusia. Peserta diharapkan dapat membangun sebuah robot Line Follower dengan bahan mekanik disediakan oleh Panitia. Dengan konsep bebas tetapi harus ada kaitan dengan tema lomba.

A. Ketentuan Perlombaan

Tema :

Persyaratan Workshop :

1. Peserta berstatus sebagai pelajar SMA, MA/SMK atau sederajat
2. Peserta dapat mengambil formulir pendaftaran mulai tanggal 20 Januari – 19 Februari di sekretariat lomba “Art and Code Competition (ACTION)”, Jl. Niken Gandini No. 98, Setono, Jenangan, Ponorogo (SMKN 1 Jenangan Ponorogo) setiap hari & jam kerja atau diunduhmelalui website –  http://www.action2014.aknponorogo.ac.id
3. Calon peserta yang mendaftar secara otomatis terdaftar sebagai peserta lomba.
4. Formulir pendaftaran dan bukti transfer dikirimkan melalui email, atau bisa langsung diserahkan kesekretariatan lomba “Art and Code Competition (ACTION)”, Jl. Niken Gandini No. 98, Setono, Jenangan, Ponorogo (SMKN 1 Jenangan Ponorogo).
5. Jumlah peserta tiap tim maksimal 3 orang terdiri dari ( 1 ketua+ 2anggota )
6. Perlengkapan dan Tool disiapkan oleh peserta sedangkan bahan disiapkan oleh panitia
7. Workshop dimulai pada hari jumat tgl 21-22 februari 2014 pukul 08.00 – 16.30 WIB.
8. Pesrta workshop akan mendapatkan buku panduan pembuatan robot Line Follower analog.

Peraturan Lomba :

1. Robot yang telah dibuat pada waktu workshop akan dilombakan pada hari minggu tanggal 23 Februari 2014
2. Robot yang digunakan harus robot yang dibuat pada waktu workshop
3. Robot tidak boleh mempunyai bagian yang merusak lapangan
4. Panitia tidak bisa menjanjikan lapangan terbebas dari cahaya luar (misalnya lampu blitz kamera, lampu sorot ruangan, dll)

B. Kriteria Penilaian

• Robot terbaik adalah robot yang dapat melewati poin yang telah ditentukan dan waktu tercepat pada saat robot mencapai garis finis dan memadamkan api
• Diarea robot telah ditentukan nilai atau poin yang akan didapatkan robot jika melewati poin yang telah ditentukan
• Terdapat 6 titik poin yang masing masing poin bernilai 10 poin
• Waktu dihitung berdasarkan bagian terdepan yang menmpel pada arena yang menyentuh garis finis.
• Kreativitas dan keunikan bentuk robot yang sesuai dengan tema.

C. Pendaftaran

Pendaftaran dimulai tanggal 13 Januari 2014 sampai dengan 19 Februari 2014. Pendaftaran bisa online dan juga bisa datang langsung ke kampus AKN Ponorogo.

D. Biaya Pendaftaran

Biaya pendaftaran untuk masing-masing team Rp.200.000,00

E. Penghargaan

2. Perlengkapan dan Tool disiapkan oleh peserta sedangkan bahan disiapkan oleh panitia
3. Workshop dimulai pada hari jumat tgl 21-22 februari 2014 pukul 08.00 – 16.30 WIB.
4. Lomba dilaksanakan pada tanggal 23 Februari 2014 pukul 07.00-selesai.
5. Pengumuman Pemenang akan dilaksanakan pada Acara Penutupan ACTION 2014, pada tanggal 23 Februari 2014 di Ponorogo.

• 4. LOMBA FOTOGRAFI

A. Ketentuan Perlombaan

Tema :

• "Inovasi Teknologi Untuk Budayaku"

Persyaratan Peserta :

1. Peserta lomba adalah masyarakat umum berusia diatas 15 tahun
2. Peserta dapat mendaftarakan diri sebagai perseorangan atau perwakilan lembaga (sekolah atau komunitas)
3. Lembaga dapat mengirimkan perwakilannya lebih dari 1 orang

Ketentuan Lomba :

1. Peserta dapat mengambil formulir pendaftaran mulai tanggal 13 Januari – 19 Februari di sekretariat lomba “Art and Code Competition (ACTION)”, Jl. Niken Gandini No. 98, Setono, Jenangan, Ponorogo (SMKN 1 Jenangan Ponorogo) setiap hari & jam kerja atau diunduhmelalui website – http://www.action2014.aknponorogo.ac.id
2. Lomba ini terbuka untuk pelajar, mahasiswa, dan umum. Warga Negara Indonesia.
3. Calon peserta yang mendaftar secara otomatis terdaftar sebagai peserta lomba.
4. Formulir pendaftaran dan bukti transfer dikirimkan melalui email
5. Lomba dilaksanakan dalam 1 (satu) hari pada tanggal 22 September 2013
6. Peserta diberikan kebebasan dalam memilih objek fotografi yang ada di tempat yang ditentukan sesuai tema yang telah diberikan.
7. Setiap foto harus dilengkapi nama fotografer dan  judul foto
8. Satu orang hanya dapat mengirimkan maksimal 1 foto yang terbaik untuk diikutsertakan.
9. Karya foto akan dinilai oleh juri yang terdiri dari fotografer dan media.
10. Peserta dapat menggunakan kameran DSLR, kamera pocket atau smartphone. Tidak diperkenankan menggunakan kamera handphone.
11. Karya foto yang diikutsertakan adalah karya foto yang diambil pada hari itu juga. Panitia berhak mendiskualifikasi peserta yang kedapatan mengikutsertakan karya foto yang diambil sebelum lomba diadakan.
12. Panitia tidak menyediakan fasilitas untuk keperluan penyuntingan foto peserta.
13. Karya yang sudah dikirimkan menjadi hak milik panitia dan tidak akan dikembalikan, ketentuan akan diatur kemudian dengan tetap menyantumkan nama pemegang hak cipta (fotografer).
14. Segala bentuk klaim kepemilikan dari pihak lain atas suatu karya peserta sepenuhnya merupakan tanggung jawab peserta. (Hal ini terkait dengan model release, apabila dalam karya foto peserta terdapat subjek manusia).
15. Dengan mengumpulkan karya foto untuk mengikuti lomba ini, berarti peserta dianggap tunduk kepada seluruh ketentuan dan peraturan yang dibuat oleh panitia.
16. Seluruh karya yang masuk ke Pantia akan dipamerkan, dan dinilai oleh dewan juri.
17. Karya akan dipamerkan pada penutupan acara tanggal 23 Februari 2014.

Ketentuan Khusus :

1. Setiap peserta mengumpulkan file berupa softcopy.
2. Olah digital diperbolehkan, walaupun hanya sebatas perbaikan kualitas foto (sharpening, cropping, color balance, dan saturasi warna).
3. Tidak diperbolehkan mengumpulkan foto berupa kombinasi lebih dari satu foto (composite dan montage) dan menghilangkan/mengubah elemen-elemen dalam satu foto.
4. Panitia berhak mendiskualifikasi foto peserta sebelum dan sesudah penjurian apabila dianggap tidak memenuhi ketentuan.
5. Keputusan Dewan juri mutlak tidak dapat diganggu gugat.
6. Pengumuman pemenang lomba foto akan diumumkan pada saat penutupan lomba tanggal 23 Februari 2014

• 5. LOMBA MAJALAH DIGITAL

A. Ketentuan Perlombaan

Tema :

• "Inovasi Teknologi Untuk Budayaku"

Syarat dan Ketentuan Peserta Majalah Digital Competition :

1. Peserta harus dari kalangan SMA-SMK  sederajat di area jawa timur
2. Setiap tim maksimal terdiri atas 2 orang pelajar siswa/siswi.
3. Setiap sekolah boleh mendaftarkan lebih dari 1 tim.
4. Setiap peserta hanya boleh didaftarkan sebagai anggota salah satu tim. Tidak diperbolehkan berstatus sebagai anggota ganda.
5. Maksimal 1 pendamping dari masing-masing sekolah
6. Biaya pendaftaran team Rp. 50.000,-.
7. Peserta harus mematuhi peraturan yang telah dibuat oleh panitia pelaksana.

Persyaratan Hasil Karya Madig :

1. Jumlah Halaman minimal : 8 Halaman,  dan dapat ditambah jumlah halaman dengan kelipatan 8 halaman
2. Isi majalah digital bisa berbentuk teks, gambar, foto, video, animasi, dan suara/musik
3. Isi majalah digital bisa berbentuk teks, gambar, foto, video, animasi, dan suara/musik. Semua software diijinkan untuk digunakan (contoh : indesign – photoshop– pagemaker – coreldraw – flash – dan sebagainya).

Halaman majalah digital terdiri dari :

• Cover Depan

• Isi (minimal) :
• Artikel terkait “Inovasi Teknologi untuk Budayaku” secara umum (minimal 2 artikel)
• Artikel tentang AKN Ponorogo (minimal 1 artikel).
• Artikel tentang Art and Code Competition (minimal 1 artikel)
• Artikel tentang Dunia Digital (minimal 1 artikel)
• Artikel tentang sekolah masing – masing peserta (minimal 2 Artikel)
• Ulasan mengenai anggota tim lomba (minimal 1 Artikel

• Cover Belakang
• Karya harus dari hasil kreativitas dari peserta, harus benar-benar original, belum pernah dipublikasikan di mana pun ataupun sedang mengikuti event lainnya.
• Karya harus sesuai dengan tema “Inovasi Teknologi Untuk Budayaku”
• Hasil majalah digital dipresentasikan pada tanggal 22 Februari 2014 kalau pada tanggal tersebut peserta tidak hadir maka akan di diskualifikasi.
• Presentasi karya majalah digital dilaksanakan di Kampus AKN Ponorogo Jl. Niken Gandini No. 98, Setono, Jenangan, Ponorogo (SMKN 1 Jenangan Ponorogo)

Orange Mobile complaint against SFR

Orange complaint against SFR about the unfair practices in terms of competition. The telephone company claims 135.3 million in damages. The reason for the complaint is that Orange SFR condemns propose too competitive prices for calls made on the SFR online.

Orange has filed its complaint with the Commercial Court of Paris, pointing to the anti-competitive practices in the SFR Reunion Island. SFR display a low price compared to the actual prices on the market. This practice leads to the SFR customers encouraged them to join the nearest telephone company. The Regulatory Authority Frequency (AFNR) ruled on the situation and considers this practice as a way to tarnish the tariff identity competitors.

At the same title, BFM Business challenges that SFR has already applied this "club effect" tariff system in France and Orange had also adopted. He had, after this procedure pay a fine amounting to 117 million Euros at the end of 2012.

Orange can not digest the fact that SFR reduced price calls to its SFR knowing that the operator uses the Orange line. In addition, SFR holds 70% share of the phone market in Mayotte and Reunion Island.
Orange filed two successive complaints in one year.

Recall that SFR has already suffered a first Orange complaint last June. The operator is then passed once before the judge and was ordered to pay 46 million euros always for the same reason: anti-competitive practice. SFR has already paid part of the fine without mentioning any dispute.

GT I9300 Service Manual specifications and sketch

We just received this specifications and sketch of the device from an insider who got it from the GT-I9300 (most likely the Galaxy S3) official Service Manual.

See the image below!

As you can see the Galaxy S3 will sport a homebutton, and will have a NEW type of Super Amoled screen which will measure 4.8″. According this manual the Processor speed is clocked at 1.5 GhZ, which is strange because Samsung introduced today their 1.4 GhZ Quad-Core processor.

Unfortunatly the camera won’t be a 12 mp according this spec list however this could be one of the first service manuals according our inside.

Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570XXKPK Android 2 3 4 Gingerbread Firmware Official KIES Update Stock ROM

Heres the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread Stock ROM for Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 with build number S5570XXKPK with CSC_SERKPK and build July 21st 2011. This is an update firmware for Europe version of Galaxy Mini and recently officially released from Samsung KIES server over Russia users.

If you want to try it out on your Galaxy Mini and see what features and improvements or bug fixes that has it might be, you can grab a copy of it at samfirmware.com, for they have managed to ripped it and packed as stock and can be flash by using ODIN.

All the latest firmware updates for Galaxy Mini are all listed here: Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 Stock ROMs

Heres a guide on how to manually flash it via ODIN multi-downloader tool.

1) Download the file from the above page including the OPS file and ODIN downloader tool.
2) Extract to a folder using the password provided by samfirmware.com. Dont rename it or extract again.

3) Run ODIN multi downloader, and load up  the TASS.OPS file for your phone.
4) Select "One file package" from ODIN and in look way down, theres the one package selector, click it and browse to the S5570XXKPK_S5570XXKPK_S5570SERKPK_HOME.Tar file you got earlier, and click it.

5) Connect your Phone to PC in "Download" Mode (By turning off the phone, clicking the Power Button + Home button + Volume down button).

6) Once all set and everything is in place, click "START" button and it should take no longer than 3-5 minutes and youre done
7) When the flashing successfully completes, the phone will restart and may take a while to start up, this is normal. Then go to settings, change the default language which is in Russian to your Region.

8) Boot into recovery mode, clear the cache partition. To have a clean and fresh firmware installed.

Where is Apples Mac OSX headed

There have been conflicting rumors about where Apples Mac OSX is headed. One line is that Mac OSX is going to wind up in a tablet, a new soon to be released Apple iPad Pro. The newly released Mac OSX Lion does look like it was designed with touchscreen in mind. The other line is Apples MacBooks will move from from Intels x86-32 and x86-64 to the ARM architecture. The third is that touchscreen will be coming to the MacBook.

Apple could build tablet with keyboards, like traditional Windows Tablets which are useful to certain degrees, and could become popular if Apple can find a way to cut down on the weight. Or it could simply be bringing touchscreen functionality to laptops and desktops. Typing this on my laptop, I am not sure I would rather use a touchscreen to navigate rather than the touch-pad. Touchscreen laptops and desktop, is possible, but it wont be a game changer.  

The other possibility Apple makes a Mac OSX tablet. Mac OSX to a tablet is not the hardest part, but the interface of software designed to run on Mac OSX would have to be redesigned. Creating new ecosystems for new hardware is something that Apple has done successfully twice, first with the iPhone than the iPad.

The other possibility, is that Mac OSX could be approaching end-of-life. Moving the MacBook line-up to iOS and ARM is possible, as ARM processors are getting more and more powerful by the year. With iOS running instead of Mac OSX, ARM processors should be more sufficient and more efficient in terms of power. This would mean having to expand the iOS app ecosystem to include devices with keyboards. The main advantage the Windows has over Mac OSX is available software. Expanding the iOS ecosystem may be easier than convincing Windows software providers to make Mac OSX version of their software. This would also move MacBooks into their walled garden. This would be a real game changer. I am betting on the third.

Nokia Windows Phone 7 seemed like a good idea

Last December we posted that Nokia badly needed a new operating system,  witing that "(t)he reality is that, unless they can get something out soon, Nokia is most likely better off jumping on the Android bandwagon or even maybe even better, supporting the Windows Phone 7 platform, before it is relegated to selling feature phones." Apparently, they did have a very good bun in the over after all.

Nokia with Windows, or Android or Nokia made sense back than. Now we are wondering why. GSMArena has had it first look at the Nokia N9, running the MeeGo Operating System v1.2 (Harmattan).

The N9 has a power a volume rocker button, but has for any hardware buttons to manipulate the operating system. There is no need to press the power key to revive the phone from sleep mode, a simple double-tap of the screen will revive the phone. There is also no back button. A swype of the from edge to edge will bring you back to app launcher or task manager.

We are getting ahead of ourselves. The OS centralizes  everything in three homescreens. The first screen keeps track of all notifications: calls, SMS, email social network updates and other system notifications. The second screen is your app drawer or app launcher where you will see all installed apps. The last screen is the multitasking cards pane which will show you  running apps on grips. The lockscreen had four customizable shortcuts, in line with new trends to make the lockscreen more functional.

With this operating system in the works did Nokia really Windows Phone 7. We felt they did, but were expecting that by the now Nokia WP7 phones would be on the market. The MeeGo ecosystem will be richer than the WP7 ecosytem by end of year. MeeGo based phones will be able to run Android apps.

With a MeeGo 1.2 based phone coming out first, does Nokia really need WP7?
